The benefit of aiming huge is that if you miss, you can still reach significance.
In the late 1980′s, Bill Gates had a vision of “a computer on every desk in every home”. Preferably an MS based computer.
That hasn’t happened and with the inundation of Mac and Linux devotees, it won’t. That vision simply will not materialise.
In Peter L. Bernstein’s The 20 Richest People Of All Time, he states that Bill Gates has “amassed the largest nominal fortune in all of history”, peaking at around $101 billion.
Yep, he missed his target. And ended up making one hundred billion dollars.
Aim huge.
