Why should I?

I have spoken about Chris Helder previously.

Chris spoke at a function I was involved with and he opened with a session on standards.

A young salesperson attended this function and looked like a regular male in his mid 20′s.

Chris singled him out: “What makes you different from every other mid 20 year old salesperson I meet?”

He made a couple of jokes but didn’t have an answer.

Chris continued: “Buy yourself an $800 watch. Until you can work out what your difference is, this will be it.”

The young man eyes widened.

“Are you going to be successful in this role?”, Chris asked. “Because if you aren’t, why are you here? But if you are, don’t give anyone the opportunity to think you won’t be.”

“Invest in yourself. If you are not prepared to, why should anyone else?”
