There is a lot to like about movies.

If Tarantino, Kubrik or Shyamalan produce a film, tickets sell before a trailer is released. Why? Because there is a history of great work (according to their fans). The past will sell the future.

It is the same for Apple, Toyota and McDonalds – future products sell because of the ‘quality’ of their past.

Creating the reputation is the hard part.

According to 100 billion blogs (or there abouts), the iPhone 4 has reception issues. When you remove all the reposts and track backs, that probably equates closer to a few thousand.

In response, Apple have been giving away bumpers to customers who have experienced reception issues.

Does this solve the reception problem? Of course not. But at least it is a response for negative press.

“The iPhone 4 has receptions issues.”

Yeah, but at least you get a free bumper.”

I don’t know who heads up the marketing teams at Google, Apple, CCA or Virgin, but they would all have something in common. They would be people that other people would be happy to work with. Maybe not the nicest, most pleasant people on Earth, but nice enough.

You might be skilled up to the eye balls, but brother, if people can’t work with you, you ain’t worth jack.
